Event Description

First in a free series of "Urban Wild Tours" this spring/summer:

On this tour, we'll find out about common, safe non-toxic weeds and plants that have a long history of use as food and/or medicine.  We'll discuss where to find specific plants and which season to look for them as well as which parts of the plant to harvest and preparation methods.  The walking tour will encompass the green space around Heron Park.  We'll finish with a wild snack and beverage for those that wish to try them.  *Please note that we will not be harvesting plants on this tour, you will be invited to take a nibble here and there as applicable.  Our focus will be on plant identification, their uses and the principles of safe, ethical foraging in an urban environment.

Admission to event is free.

I can't go on this one, mush to my disappointment. I will be en route home from a course in NYC. I hope it will be repeated soon?

Thanks Tess!  We are already in touch with her!  She is a great resource - Amber Westfall took her course two years ago.

Hope you can come out on the tours!

Have you looked at involving a wonderful woman by the name of Martha Webber? She has an extraordinary fund of knowledge on wild edibles in this part of the world. Let me know if you would like me to contact her to sound her out.
