Event Description

Green Construction In Hindsight, with Terry Newcombe

On May 25 2010 our Peak Oil group had a great discussion on "Low-Energy House Design" centered around Terry's upcoming house construction in Barry's Bay.

He has now completed and moved into the new home, and has learned lots about how hard it is to build green in a non-green world. Join us to hear about his successes (e.g., passive solar) and nightmares (e.g., active solar), and everything in-between.

Teaser: "Yes," said the general contractor, "your contract specifies 0-VOC paint. But it doesn't specify 0-VOC primer, so we've used primer with VOCs."
