I want to draw your attention to the upcoming November 15th Conference on Corporate and Community Social Responsibility (CCSR) and suggest that you not only attend but make your broader Transition Ottawa Network aware of it. Having attended last year, I am looking forward to this year's conference with much anticipation and recommend it to all. It's a great place to learn, network and meet like minded people who can help each other achieve common objectives. I hope to see you there! Paul Koch, Chair, Ottawa Sustainability Fund, www.osfund.ca. The 2011 Corporate and Community Social Responsibility (CCSR) Conference will be held on November 15, 2011 at Algonquin College in Ottawa. This is the 4th CCSR conference to be held in succession to celebrate & showcase excellence in the area of Social, Economic & Environmental sustainability. The theme for this year event is “Shared Value: New ways corporations are engaging with the community & NGOS” The format of the 2011 CCSR conference includes 3 key functions: A day event featuring 11 sessions with 45 speakers from across Canada including: Sears Canada, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Tim Horton’s, BMO, Sobey’s and many NGOs. ($100) An afternoon event focused on youth showcasing local NGOs, social enterprises and youth groups with a buisness challenge at the Lizardsʼ Den" contest. (Free) An evening Gala with featuring Mario Pilozzi, former CEO of Wal-Mart Canada, as the keynote speaker and presentations of 5 CCSR awards.
