Hello folks,

Here is an idea to create opportunities for us to meet and to bring exposure to our group and cause. What about we contemplate adopting a high-profile park or roadway through the City of
Ottawa’s “Adopt a Park” program (
http://www.ottawa.ca/residents/environment/community/adopt_en.html)? Preliminary ideas are that we could organize
bi-annual clean-ups, provide a few benches and create nature
interpretation signs in our park… Please let me know if you think this
may be a good idea and perhaps we could create a group and meet to get
this initiative going. Cheers,

Gabriel

I've heard of adopting a road but not a park. That's great!

Could we also plant some nut trees? I think this is a really good idea to get our name out there!
SLOE has adopted several parks in Old Ottawa East. SLOE is a local arm of Transition Ottawa. If other local groups want to take on their parks, that would be a good idea.
