Jct: I'll be in running in the Mar 4 2010 Ottawa West-Nepean provincial byelection and will be in town between Feb 18 and Mar 4. I wonder how many revolutionaries would like to form an Ottawa Timebank.
One great advantage: In 1999, I paid for 39/40 nights in Europe with an IOU for a night back in Canada worth 5 Hours. Imagine having organised accommodations in other towns by providing accommodations to out-of-towners in Ottawa. http://johnturmel.com/unilets.htm is my rudimentary personal timebank account I created just to prove anyone could do-it-yourself too.
If I can record Hours of what I am proud to call revolutionary activity, why can't you too?
Except it would be best to have a large online database to guarantee accommodations to the world when they accommodate one of your group.

Permalink Reply by Tess Frost on October 6, 2010 at 7:45pm Hey there,
I am becoming more and more interested in alternative ways besides $$ myself. I recommend checking out themoneyfix.org
It is a website for the movie The Money Fix, and it has a resources page with different online softwares that you can use to set something up in your community. I am posting this here because I could not find these resources on johnturmel.com
Also, I just bought the Local Money Transition book...
Be well,
Sebastien.
