Hello,

I attended Mike Nickerson's presentation last week entitled "Living on Earth as if we Want to Stay" and was very inspired by his words and wisdom. His stories are very relevant to a Christian audience: the Loaves and fishes = community and cyclic management of nutrients to feed the masses forever; Joseph's interpretation of the Pharaoh's dream, the Ostrica monetary system (if not conceived at that time, was instrumental in feeding the people in the lean years). His stories are also relevant to other spiritual communities. Mike has indicated to me that he would be willing to present his material to any church group if we have any connections with them. Does anyone have any connections with local churches and also feel it would be beneficial for Mike to speak to these other groups of people working to make the world a better place?

I don't know her personally but have heard that Kristina Inrig (from Tucker House) also works at: Faith and the Common Good - Greening Sacred Spaces:

"Greening Sacred Spaces is a practical program to assist faith communities in taking actions to create a more sustainable and energy efficiency place of worship and to educate members of the community about ecological issues."

www.greeningsacredspaces.net / www.fcgottawa.ca

and when googling for her I found that Tucker House also has:

Good luck!
I know that Keith Shackleton spoke at the Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa last fall on behalf of Transition Ottawa. I believe the event was organized by Transition Ottawa member Alistaire Henderson ( http://transitionottawa.ning.com/profile/AlastaireMaryHenderson ). You might try contacting her. Cheers / jd
