How would you like to see Ottawa look and feel in the future?
Like a network of many healthy and diverse communities tied together by extensive web of public transit (primarily rail) capable of satisfying 75% of transportation need; that uses cars only on occasion; that is primarily self sufficient in its food production; that has a more decentralized system of delivering public services (more like schools); has greater reliance on teleworking; and is capable of mobilizing citizens to respond to most needs in the community rather than relying on government for everything.
What part would you like to contribute to this?
I'd like to understand better what I can do myself to reduce energy consumption, eat better, live a healthier lifestyle AND help others do the same.
If you could create your ideal participation with Transition Ottawa, what would it be?
Be part of Steering Committee (which i am)
Facilitate conversations about peak energy and climate change
Assist community groups understand collaboration
Help broker community partnerships

Feel free to start bringing in any media, blogs, photos, links and thoughts about how Ottawa can prepare for peak oil and move towards sustainability.
I'm listening to the Michael Pollan video as I write - he's good. I also recommend the Thomas Linzey Bioneers talk video - wow!
I'm feeling very inspired. Great solutions are out there. It's a question of integrating it, and putting it into action.
Great to have you with us,
