We are a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization working to make Ottawa the green capital of Canada. We believe that Ottawans want sustainable communities and that they care about issues such as public transit, pollution, greenspace, global warming, renewable energy, waste disposal, and recycling.
If you are from the Ottawa area, in what neighbourhood area do you live (i.e. Nepean, Centre Town, Glebe, Vanier, etc.)
Would you like to be part of a transition initiative in your neighbourhood?
No but keep me posted!
What issues are you interested in (Check as many as apply)?
Home energy power down, Local food resilience, Alternative vehicles, Solar/wind energy, Community building, Greening Ottawa, Public transport
What are your skills (Professional and amateur)?
We have an excellent presence within the environmental community and have a network of volunteers and interested parties that are looking to get further involved.
How would you like to see Ottawa look and feel in the future?
We would like Ottawa to reinvest in the environment and environmental initiatives. We hope that Ottawa can become the green capital of Canada.
What part would you like to contribute to this?
We hope to receive and provide information about city policies, volunteer and networking opportunities, as well as lead and contribute to new and ongoing campaigns.
If you could create your ideal participation with Transition Ottawa, what would it be?
We hope to be able to contribute via postings about the issues mentioned above. Through this we hope to form connections with other, like-minded individuals, which will lead to further interactions and partnerships.

Great to have you with us!
Do use the site to list all your sustainability-oriented events - anything to do with power down, local sourcing of food and goods, and alternative energy and transport. You can also list yourself as a 'group' on the groups page, or create groups for specific projects which might help some of our members link in to these ventures.
While we would like to stay generally apolitical, getting environmentally savvy people into all levels of government and decision making is vital. With the elections coming up, perhaps we can put something on the site that will help people know which candidates will support Transition directions.
We look forward to working with you and supporting you in any way we can.
Keep up your excellent work,
