Hi Gwen,
There are a growing number of members in Old Ottawa South, and with the OOS community association and other interested folk, there could be the creation of a Sustainable Living Ottawa (SLO) group there. SLOs are neighbourhood groups that envision the changes they'd like to see locally e.g. to set up farmer's markets, safe bike paths, more community gardens. If interested, perhaps a little piece could go out on your web site or local paper to gather the increasing number of people interested in these initiatives and get things happening. Let us know if any of this interests you.

Welcome, Gwen,
Great to have you with us.
It's a useful service you are offering.
A wish for sustainable living initiatives is starting to brew in Ottawa South, and we hope SLOSouth will add to SLOEast and SLOWest. There are two or three people in your area hoping to get community gardens (allotments) going on unused public land, so this will likely be the first project. We'll keep you posted when all this starts moving forward.
Perhaps those that are in OOS might like to put an article in a local paper for March or April - the best time for local food initiatives to start up. Could be a rehash of a transition article published elsewhere.
