How would you like to see Ottawa look and feel in the future?
Make the most of our green space (veggie, butterfly and wild gardens)
Local businesses to transition and thrive
Kids to help us imagine the city we are creating for THEM
Bikes to take priority over cars
Community gatherings, discussions, collaborations and celebration
What part would you like to contribute to this?
Food movement, bicycle advocacy, community out reach... and to sit in on business initiatives. MARKETING.
If you could create your ideal participation with Transition Ottawa, what would it be?
I want to help brainstorm and coordinate events but I would like to focus on the food movement. I think I'd do well connecting individuals, businesses, organizations and schools to collaborate on various projects that will benefit parties involved, the community and the environment.
I'm young and have the hippest connections in the city so if we want to target the trend setters in Ottawa, I can get the 'it' restaurants, artists, bands and night clubs on board. I think its important to make the transition hip and appealing to young people. They will be the ones voting for sustainable products and practices with their consumer dollar longer than the baby boomers!
I also still have a great relationship with my former high school, Glebe Collegiate.. And I can recruit masses of volunteers (to complete their 40 mandatory community service hours) or negotiate greening the school yard.
