Profile Information

What attracted you to become a member?
I saw that Sustainable Living Ottawa West was part of Transition Ottawa, so I joined it as well.
If you are from the Ottawa area, in what neighbourhood area do you live (i.e. Nepean, Centre Town, Glebe, Vanier, etc.)
Centretown
Would you like to be part of a transition initiative in your neighbourhood?
Yes
What issues are you interested in (Check as many as apply)?
Local food resilience, Alternative vehicles, Solar/wind energy, Greening Ottawa
What are your skills (Professional and amateur)?
Finishing off an Honours Natural Resources & Environmental Economics undergraduate degree at Carleton University and working as PR & Business Manager for a solar energy company, Eco-Energy Reserves Inc. I volunteer for the Ottawa International Film Festival, working on a documentary and contribute to an online eco-fashion magazine.
How would you like to see Ottawa look and feel in the future?
Ottawa is on a great track of incorporating more of the arts into lifestyle and community. There is also a small buzz of renewable energy companies and projects emerging. Ottawa would be amazing if both of these areas continue to grow, as well as more of an influence of local food and beverage choices and promotion.
What part would you like to contribute to this?
Any way that I can, as well as what would be applicable given my education and keen interest in renewable energy.
If you could create your ideal participation with Transition Ottawa, what would it be?
Adapting music festivals and venues to renewable energy generation and reliance. Having more buildings supplied by renewable energy. Research and develop prospects for eco-friendly fashions.
