- the chance to do more about moving our cultures to a greener mindset and practice

- Home energy power down, Local food resilience, Alternative vehicles, Solar/wind energy, Community building, Greening Ottawa, Public transport, Joyous simple living, Other
- What are your skills (Professional and amateur)?
- Capable in many crafts (art, bookbinding, beading, stained glass, print making, paper making, sewing, knitting, crochet, netting, paper marbleising etc) technical drawing, capable writer, proof-reader, problem solving, computer graphics (illustrator, photoshop, archicad, vectorworks) draftsperson (mainly vectorworks, archicad), document layout, report preparation and presentation, some degree of organisational skills, database construction in Filemaker Pro (basic level) and maintenance.
- How would you like to see Ottawa look and feel in the future?
- Unpolluted, green design (eg green roofs, earth-sheltered houses, porous surfaces, geothermal heating, natural poer generation, natural swimming pools, extensive public transit, local organic food production, no pesticides allowed, more progressive schools with ecology and community responsibility as the core subjects, algae (convertable to biofuel) and wetland with fishfarming sewer and wastewater processes, ) lots of green space, severly restricted gas vehicle, exhaust quatlity standards for all vehicles inc trucks etc, better recycling and especially reuse standards and practice and other things that I can't think of right now.
- What part would you like to contribute to this?
- Anything that would fit my skills. I need, for family financial status reasons, to earn a minimum of $2200/month net and have the time to spend cooking and some time with my family, but beyond that I like variety, and am passionate about this cause and want very much to DO something!
- If you could create your ideal participation with Transition Ottawa, what would it be?
- Think tank, research, organisation, and things involving bdesign principles and problem solving (ie and some artistic creation, possibly education as well. Preferably as a 7hr/day job earning about what I need. I lke being hands on and I like working in a team particularly, I hate micromanaging preferring to have people think things through themselves, I like other people's ideas, and try to keep an open mind about things. Can do some volunteer work, and would be happy to to be involved.

I can try to help with waste management, but it isn't my forte. I have learned a lot through the research for my project, but haven't consolidated it yet.

I met some interesting people on the weekend that were in Transition Towns
Peterborough and Cobourg.
Great weekend
Two things I learned 1. there are Advocates and Participants
They have a book on Transitioning and a Magazine things are hopping
nice to meet you. Chris Bradshaw was speaking on exactly what you were saying with all the student furniture throw away each term a gold mine.
