Jct: I can do the same without it sounding dictatorial! Let everyone open an interest-free account at the Bank of Canada, cut checks to pay off all interest-bearing debts and mortgages, and after that, all payments go against principal in cash or in time. No need to order change and ban interest, just offer the interest-
free alternative.

I remember being in London in 1973-4 when the oil crisis hit England...I get astonished being Colombian witnessing people here in Sweden wasting energy the way they do..it was different in Germany...it seems as Germans are more aware of the oil prices!
