SLOWest Getting Underway

Sustainable Living Ottawa West (SLOWest) held its first community gathering on Saturday, November 7th at Connaught Public School. SLOWest is a part of Transition Ottawa and is applying the transition model to communities within communities in the west end of town. Have a Handmade/Secondhand Holiday this year!

What does that mean? Well, essentially it is a commitment to avoiding buying new gifts for the holiday season. A few of my favourite bloggers are encouraging people to stay out of the malls and big box stores and instead get crafty and thrifty with their gifts.
