Hi Hugh. I thought it was well attended for a town the size of Brockville. Difficult to assess the reception. There were questions until time was up, which is always a sign that people are thinking about what was said. No one was in open disagreement with any of her points. But Stoneleigh's message is so stark and urgent that I think, psychologically, its sometimes easier to develop amnesia around ever having heard it than to try to debate and process it. I see it in myself all the time. The changes it implies seem too great to some people. Easier to just pretend you never heard what she said and continue investing in the status quo. She gives the status quo two to five years...

I talked to her about doing another talk in the Ottawa area soon. Let me know if interested.

Hope the crisis has resolved. Is she a personal friend?

Did you make it down to Brockville, DJ? I was struck with a medical crisis a couple days before her presentation, and was very disappointed I couldn't attend. (OTOH, Stoneleigh dropped in at my home to see me for a few minutes before the meeting - very kind of her.) I understand the meeting room was only half full (about 25) but everyone stayed until the library closed at 4 pm. If you did attend, I'd be interested in hearing any comments you might have ... about her message, about the uptake by attendees, etc.
